Sorting out Data Analytics: What Does It Mean for Publishers

How can data impact editorial, product development, and business strategy decisions? Everyone talks of data, but what are they doing?  This session will seek to answer questions like: How can a publisher know the investment and attention they should apply to customer usage and activity data? What is data visualization and what types of visualizations are accessible to publishers? How do we identify “hot” topical areas and outliers? How can this knowledge inform editorial development? What types of data are available?  Where do we get it? How can we pull this information together and create actionable data that can inform business strategy. How can publishers get the most “bang for the buck” from data collection and analysis?
