Mark W. White is Vice President of Specialty Marketing for U.S. News & World Report, a multi-platform publisher known for its “News You Can Use” brand of journalism and its “Best” series of consumer guides and rankings. He is responsible for marketing U.S. News’ non-web products – such as annual guidebooks about Colleges, Graduate Schools, and Hospitals; the digital U.S. News Weekly; and the licensing of U.S. News content. Mark is a member of Publishing Executive’s Hall of Fame in recognition of U.S. News’ pioneering work on co-binding weekly magazines and advocating for Periodicals postal reform. But lately he seems intent on bucking established practices in the publishing industry – such as by selling the same product in both magazine and book channels and by doing controlled circulation for bookazines.
