As Vice President/Publisher of Advertising Age & author of The Book of Doing: Everyday Activities to Unlock Creativity and Joy, Allison is on a mission to raise the value of creativity and help others embrace their personal creativity for success in business and life.  She set out to explore her creativity by using her life as a canvas and treating every activity as an opportunity to test possibilities, connect with the world around her and put the seemingly absurd into action. Since becoming Publisher in 2007, Allison and her team have expanded the way Advertising Age serves the community with products and programs including Ad Age’s LookBook, Ad Age on Campus, and Ad Age Insights, a new division helping marketers gain a deeper understanding of the industry’s ever changing landscape.  Allison also worked with the Effies to create the GoodWorks Effie, recognizes brands using their platforms to affect positive change in the world.

Throughout Allison’s tenure at Advertising Age, she has held the roles of Associate Publisher and General Manager, Interactive for Advertising Age and Creativity. In those roles, she has driven the evolution of Advertising Age’s digital product line, as well as expanded its growing event and custom media businesses.

Prior to joining Crain Communications in 1996, Ms. Arden launched 3DDesign Magazine and its website as National Sales Manager. Ms. Arden is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the proud mother of Max, 11 and Maya, 8. Allison is a two-time finisher in the ING New York City Marathon. She serves on the Board of Directors for the American Advertising Federation (AAF), Advertising Women of New York and VCU BrandCenter.  She was inducted into the AAF’s Advertising Hall of Achievement in 2009.
