Marcelle Soviero is the Editor-in-Chief of Brain, Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers. Founded in 2000, Brain, Child is the largest literary magazine devoted to motherhood. Contributors have included Pulitzer Prize-winning novelists Jane Smiley and Anne Tyler, best-selling author Barbara Ehrenreich, and acclaimed writers Antonya Nelson, Alice Hoffman, and Susan Maushart.

Since Ms. Soviero purchased the magazine a year ago, she and her team have increased circulation, published a special issue for parents of teenagers (Brain, Teen), relaunched the website with exclusive web programming ( HYPERLINK "http://www.brainchildmag.com" www.brainchildmag.com) and started the wildly successful blog Brain, Mother. Ms. Soviero has also built Brain, Child’s social media presence, launched the first iPad edition and redesigned the flagship print magazine. The redesign premieres with the Fall 2013 issue.

Ms. Soviero is also the author of An Iridescent Life, Essays on Motherhood and Stepmotherhood, and an award-winning essayist who has published in numerous magazines including The New York Times, National Public Radio, The Huffington Post, Salon.com, Eating Well, Literary Mama and Babble.com.

Before Brain, Child, Marcelle spent twenty years in the magazine and publishing industry developing, writing, editing, promoting and syndicating content online and in print for large and small publishers and internet startups.  She began her career as an editor for Popular Science magazine.
